SAVE THE KIDS

DONATION GOAL - $1,000,000

There is an epidemic in our society of children addicted to their electronic devices, so much so it's causing enormous problems in their lives and in the world at large. Working together with government agencies, we are dedicated to creating programs to help wean children from their addictions.

Some programs include:

A 12-step program: Modeled after classic programs to assist people to correct addictive behaviors, we offer a systematic program to help children become whole again, and no longer rely on their devices for all their needs in life.

Education for parents: We offer programs for parents so they are better equipped to assist their children through the inevitable struggles of distancing themselves from this pervasive threat.

Online meetings: The children do not need to do this alone. With support of peers struggling alongside them, they will grow and improve every day.

This is a problem that can only be solved with massive guidance and direction. Through our efforts, we will be able to make an indelible change, and save our children from all the dangers of their current path.

ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

EXCESSIVE SCREEN TIME POSES VARIOUS RISKS FOR CHILDREN:

1. Physical Health Issues: Sedentary behavior from prolonged screen time increases obesity and related health problems. Screen exposure can lead to eye strain, headaches, and disrupted sleep due to blue light emission.

2. Developmental Delays: Excessive screen use can hinder physical, cognitive, and social development, affecting imaginative play, fine motor skills, and social interaction.

3. Poor Academic Performance: Excessive screen time detracts from educational activities like homework and reading, leading to lower academic achievement.

4. Social Isolation: Reduced face-to-face interaction due to excessive screen use can hinder social skill development, leading to feelings of loneliness and depression.

5. Behavioral Problems: Excessive screen time correlates with behavioral issues such as aggression, impulsivity, and attention problems, possibly due to disruptive content or routine.

6. Risk of Addiction: Screen addiction can develop, especially with gaming or social media, leading children to prioritize screens over schoolwork, hobbies, and relationships.

7. Emotional Challenges: Constant exposure to screens can desensitize children to violence and inappropriate content, contributing to emotional numbing, anxiety, and depression, exacerbated by social media comparisons.

HOW TO GET CHILDREN AND YOUTH OUT OF ADDICTION TO SCREENS?

Getting children and youth out of screen addiction requires a strategic approach:

1. Set Clear Boundaries: Establish firm but fair limits on screen time, ensuring they understand and respect these boundaries.

2. Provide Alternatives: Offer engaging alternative activities such as sports, hobbies, and outdoor play to divert attention away from screens.

3. Lead by Example: Model healthy screen habits yourself, demonstrating a balanced approach to technology use.

4. Encourage Social Interaction: Facilitate opportunities for face-to-face interaction with peers and family members to reduce reliance on virtual connections.

5. Educate About Risks: Help children understand the negative effects of excessive screen time on their physical and mental well-being.

6. Monitor and Restrict Content: Use parental controls and monitoring tools to limit access to inappropriate content and ensure screen time is spent on constructive activities.

7. Seek Professional Help if Necessary: If addiction persists despite efforts, seek guidance from a qualified mental health professional specializing in technology addiction.

By implementing these strategies consistently and providing support and guidance, children and youth can gradually break free from screen addiction and develop healthier habits.
